Since January 2012, Keegan-Filion Farm has offered families in the Lowcountry of South Carolina an opportunity to purchase our pasture raised products through a meat share program.
Meat ProductsSimilar to CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), members buy into the program and receive a set amount of meat for an agreed upon period of time.  Shares in the meat share program are paid in advance so you have nothing to do monthly except to pick up your share of meat.

Choose between two levels of meat share - standard or premium. With either option, you can choose 10lbs or 20lbs of our pasture raised,antibiotic-free, humanely processed meats. A typical 20 lb share will consist of 2 whole chickens (3 to 4 lbs each) or chicken parts (legs, wings, thighs), 3 lbs of ground beef, 1 lb of stew beef (or cube steak), 1 beef roast (3 to 4 lbs), 3 lbs of a combination of bacon, breakfast sausage, garlic brats, hot Italian sausage, Kielbasa, Chorizo, smoked loose sausage or one of our other sausage flavors.  Each monthly share will also contain 1 pack of our thick cut pork chops, and may contain 3 to 4 lb pork roast depending on availability.

The standard share does not include boneless skinless chicken breasts or steaks due to the high cost of these items. The premium share includes 2 packs of boneless skinless chicken breasts and 2 packs of steak as part of the 20 lb meat share. The steaks will be sirloins, rib eyes, or New York Strips, and similar to a vegetable CSA, the kind of steaks we will put in your share will vary depending on what is available from the steer we processed. We have a very limited number of premium shares available.  Standard share members can purchase boneless skinless breasts and steaks, if available, and have them dropped off with the months delivery.  Payment for add ons to the meat share drop will be handled through Pay Pal.

Both standard and premium shares are offered quarterly or every 6 months. The 6 month share runs January through June and July through December.  Our 3 month shares run January through March, April through June and so on.  Quarterly standard shares are being offered for $145.00 per month and 6 month standard shares for $135.00 per month. The premium 20 lb share will cost $170.00 per month for the quarterly share and $160.00 per month for the 6 month share. In some cases, we can offer 10 lb meat shares but please note that premium packages are not available for any 10 lb shares.

We realize the cost of a share is higher than meat from a grocery store; its expensive raising an animal without the use of antibiotics or feeding them feed that is ground using no animal proteins (feeding cows back to cows was the cause of mad cow disease).  We also feel it is important that an animal end its life in as humanly a way as it lived it, therefore we gladly pay the extra cost associated with processing at a Certified Humane packing plant.  We know that you will taste the difference in our pastured meats when compared to the factory farm raised meat found in the local grocery stores.

Also new for 2018 is a new and improved, more convenient home delivery option.  For NO ADDITIONAL FEE, you can have your share dropped off at your house.  Just leave a cooler with ice packs for us and we will put your share in your cooler on the designated drop date. Read here for complete details on the Pastured Pantry delivery service.

Many people know that we raise turkeys for Thanksgiving and that we sell out by June or July.  Members will also get the first opportunity to sign up for a Thanksgiving turkey before we begin taking orders from non-members.

We have several drop locations where you can pick up your meat share. Current drop locations include:
